Epidote on Quartz (rare locale) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

I have never seen a piece of this material, but the depth of Kay's collection allows for unique and one-time-find specimens like this. This piece features thin prismatic crystals of rich green Epidote which are intermixed with Quartz crystals included by Actinolite on minor matrix. The largest crystal on the specimen measures 2.5 cm long. There is a bit of damage, so it's not completely pristine, but it's a good overall reference specimen of this obscure material from California. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10440).
