Epidote on Quartz

Peru is best known for its various minerals from ore body deposits, but there are plenty of other localities where fine minerals are found. There are multiple localities in the La Libertad Department of Peru where attractive Epidote specimens have been found, and this piece is from a new find at the La Verde Mine featuring fine quality, rather lustrous, dark green color, prismatic crystal "sprays" of Epidote measuring up to 2.0 cm long, gracefully growing along the side of a GEM quality, colorless hexagonal prismatic crystal of Quartz. The piece is not completely pristine, but most of the damage is small/trivial and the piece displays quite nicely as you can see from the video. It's not easy to find good Epidote/Quartz combos like this form Peru with such transparency in the Quartz.
