Epidote (great form) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A stout textbook monoclinic single crystal of Epidote with sharp, lustrous faces and a deep black-green color. It has a few minor contacts, but for the most part, it's complete all the way around. The piece is from China of all places, and certainly would pass for Alaska or various European Alpine localities. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11726). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A beautiful and attractive thumbnail from this unlikely locale.
