Item Description
Good Epidote specimens from Pakistan are very difficult to obtain these days, as the localities around Shigar seemed to have dried up in recent years. What used to be plentiful on the market - like many things over the years - is now limited and sought after. The European Alps are famous for producing some of the finest Epidote crystals in the world, and the pieces from Pakistan are very comparable in terms of size, quality and habit. Here we have a wonderful thumbnail specimen comprising good quality, lustrous, dark green colored, translucent, prismatic, "sword"-shaped crystals which features a thin "Faden" growth running across the prisms. The piece is in very good condition, though I can see a two tiny imperfections with the naked eye. It's still a very good quality thumbnail and as you can see it displays well. It's very hard to find such eye-catching thumbnails of Epidote from any world locality like this. From the worldwide thumbnail / miniature collection of Irv Brown. Valued at $350.
