Epidote (ex Herb Obodda Collection)

From the area that produced some of the most exciting new Prehnites to come out in years, here we have a fantastic and highly aesthetic crystal group of Epidote. The piece hosts many sharp, lustrous, well-formed, dark green crystals measuring up to 4.4 cm free of matrix. Several of the Epidotes are actually doubly-terminated, and the piece is nearly a complete "floater" since it's crystallized on all sides, but I can see a few small points of attachment / contact underneath, so it's not 100% complete. A very attractive and highly displayable specimen of a species that is often overlooked in the mineral world. A few small areas of the piece feature a thin coating of an unknown white mineral, perhaps a feldspar species or just white Prehnite. We had a retail price of $1,200 on this piece in the inventory.
