Epidotes from the United States are not terribly common in fine crystals, and the specimens from near Hawthorne are some of the best in the country after the fine pieces from Green Monster Mountain, Alaska. This piece is a fine group of doubly-terminated, parallel-growth crystals with smooth, sharp, lustrous, greenish-black faces and very little damage. It's a showy specimen and a great overall piece of this now hard to find material. If you collect Epidote or minerals from the western US, don't miss out on this one. From Harvey Gordon originally.
