This competitive quality thumbnail specimen of epidote speaks for itself - it has poise, aesthetics, an uncanny balance of the two species; and it is a large and full thumbnail as well. I think you would be hard pressed to find a more unique and showy example in thumbnail size, of epidote from this classic location in remote Alaska! It is complete all around. This epidote, for the stark shape, contrasts, and rich deep color, is iconic for the locality but also is fine enough that it can hold its own in any thumbnail collection as a high level for the species, different than most others which are simply singles or clusters of epidote. From the competitive display thumbnail collection of Bill and Sharon Panczner: The TN suite was assembled mostly in the 1960s through the 1980s when such specimens were being mined, and it is perhaps contemporary to those days.
