Ephesite (rare Mica species)

Item Description

A rarely seen specimen of the Mica species, Ephesite, from the most famous locality for the material. The material gets it rich pinkish color from Lithium, but it's more intense than what one expects from any Mica species. This piece is from a find in the early to mid 1980's and features sharp, lustrous, translucent reddish pink groups of Ephesite with what I'm told is Mn-bearing Diaspore. More of a reference piece, but worth picking up for a rarities collector.
