Item Description

Eosphorite is rarely seen in faceted gems, and most collectors don't have an example in their collections. The reason you don't see a lot of cut stones is because most Eosphorite crystals aren't "gem quality" to begin with, so it's very difficult to find material that will yield a gem quality faceted stone. Additionally when you consider that most Eosphorite crystals are fairly thin, you really need a bit of luck to find a piece of Eosphorite that it clean enough and thick enough to produce a good gemstone. The best source for gem-grade Eosphorite is Brazil, but the majority of the good material came out years ago, and very little has been found in the last 20+ years. This stone is a lovely example of this rare material with a light peach-orange hue and a "Round" cut. Like most Eosphorite gems, there are some visible inclusions, but it's extremely difficult to find a completely clean Eosphorite gemstone. If you've been searching for a good example of this beautiful and rare gem, don't let this one get away. It's the only one we have to offer, and we never know when or if we'll have another one.
