Some of the finest mineral collections in the world are accompanied by gemstones that either complete a "rough and cut" set for certain specimens, or simply show the beauty of particular species when they are faceted. I think it is important for collectors to know that faceted stones can expand one's interests in minerals and can add a certain reverence to the hobby of collecting minerals. Enstatite is another rare stone that doesn't get enough attention for what it is. The material is actually very difficult to cut and for the most part, collectors tend to shy away from the material because it's often brown in color. This gem however has a nice reddish color, and looks really nice in sunlight. This is one of the more unique shades of Enstatite that I have seen and is good sized for the material. Additionally, this "Oval" Cabochon cut gem is a VERY rarely seen Cat's Eye stone, which exists in a very small percentage of Enstatites from around the world. A great stone for a someone looking for an attractive Enstatite to add to the collection.
