Item Description

A rich, showy and rare Colorado combination specimen from the Longfellow Mine and the Wes Parker Collection. The large vug in sculptural sulfide matrix is filled with microcrystals of: lustrous, jet-black, striated enargite; sparkly, metallic-gray tetrahedrite; mirror-bright, brass-yellow pyrite; glassy quartz needles; and one small cluster of calcite rhombs. The base and back of the piece are nearly covered with microcrystalline pyrite. Some of Colorado's finest enargite specimens come from this district. Old-time, classic material.
