Item Description

The Mountain Con Mine was not only the deepest mine at Butte, but it was also the last underground mine to produce ore (1975). Lustrous, striated, metallic-gray enargite lathes to about 7 mm richly cover matrix along with quartz crystals and drusy quartz. Enargite is a signature species from Butte and this is an excellent and highly representative combination example from the Bob Trimingham Collection.
