Item Description

Striking stellate sprays of splendent, metallic-gray, engarite lathes to 2.2 cm are richly and aesthetically set on the matrix plate covered with tiny, scintillating, brassy, pyrite pyritohedrons. According to the Mineralogical Record Peru Special Issue, July-August, 1997 - "Except for specimens definitely collected prior to the 1970s, many of those labeled Cerro de Pasco (Colquijirca) are suspect". The piece is probably from the Quiruvilca Mine. This is a very fine and large example of the combination species. The lustrous gray and gold minerals really compliment and stand out together. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection valued $750
