Item Description

Enargite is RARE from any mine in the historic Picher Field, Kansas portion of the famous Tri-State District. This is a VERY RARE, old-time, perhaps unique combination specimen from the Ballard Mine and the George Feist Collection # 2761. Tiny sharp, metallic-gray enargite prisms, to 3 mm, are scattered on the stunning, dramatic face of densely intergrown, very sharp, beautifully iridescent, tetragonal chalcopyrite crystals. The chalcopyrite crust covers rubyjack sphalerite, all of which strikingly rest on a sharp oxide-coated calcite scalenohedron! A fantastic, very showy and ultimately RARE combination specimen from this old and classic locale. Value?? We feel in the $1000-1250 range for quality and unique combination rarity.
