Item Description

Classic, showy and rich large combination sulfide specimen from the famous Leonard Mine at Butte. Brassy luster, striated to smooth-faced, densely intergrown pyritohedrons, 2.2 cm, comprise the sculptural mounded 360-degree large piece. Rich patches of tiny black enargite crystals are scattered about and many of the pyrite faces have bornite crusts on them. Shockingly hefty ore at 1997 grams or 4.4 pounds when you lift it! That is big for a surviving Butte piece! A fine old-time combination Butte classic from the Dick Hauck Collection.
