Emmonsite with Mackayite (ex Van Tichelen Collection)

Item Description

Emmonsite is a rare hydrated iron tellurite, and Mackayite is an even more rare hydroxy iron tellurite. This piece is from the famous Moctezuma Mine (the type locality for many interesting species) and features Emmonsite and Mackayite, which are best seen under high magnification. The Emmonsite is a brighter green color than the olive-colored Mackayite. A very hard to find association specimen from the Collection of Wouter Van Tichelen, by way of the Fred DeVito Collection.
