Emerald on schist (old classic)

Two rich emerald-green, lustrous and translucent rounded emerald crystals are aesthetically set in schist matrix on this cute old-time thumbnail from the famous emerald deposits at Malyshevo. The emeralds and schist matrix have a rounded aspect, suggesting this fine piece is alluvial (rounded by river forces) in nature. Probably old-time material dating to the Imperial Russia era, prior to World War I. Classic and excellent Russian emeralds.
