Emerald on Quartz

Item Description

An impressive and excellent example from the world"s largest known emerald deposit, of a large, typically non-gem emerald from here. The 5.5 x 3.0 x 2.0 cm, sharp emerald crystal with deep green color and moderate luster is dramatically set on a large quartz fragment. The termination area and sides are partially translucent under strong light and show the rich color saturation. The termination is very nearly pristine, with only one tiny spot of bruising. Contacting on lower portion of the emerald is noted. This remains a large and highly representative example of the species and locale.
