Item Description
Emerald specimens from this mine, the oldest emerald mine in the region, are extremely rare and are very seldom on the market. Gemmy emerald crystals on a doubly terminated, floater, quartz scepter very well may be unique for this locale. Two gemmy emeralds with fine rich color are aesthetically set on the side of the glassy, water-clear, complex, multiply terminated quartz crystal. The color and gemminess of the emeralds are the match for Colombian emeralds. The large crystal is 7 mm and you can see that the smaller, fragmented emerald was at one time about 1.0 cm long. Both emeralds have broken ends. The DT quartz is complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only trivial termination wear to the secondary termination and very trivial side wear. Ex Herb Obodda Private Collection. A piece from the same pocket as his famous, more included specimen known from exhibitions and mindat.
