Emerald (not from Colombia)

Without questions, the finest gem quality Emeralds come from Colombia, but every once in a while we get our hands on a small amount of Emeralds from the Bahia area in Brazil. The top end gems from Bahia are every bit as fine as the best stones you'll find from Colombia in terms of color and quality, but they are much more limited. This gem has a wonderful emerald green hue, with some visible inclusions, and a standard "Emerald" cut. Emerald is classified as a type-3 gemstone which means that inclusions in the stones are acceptable in the trade for collectors and dealers. With that said, it is very difficult to find a "clean" Emerald that is over 1 carat in weight. Please note that Emeralds are notoriously difficult to photograph, and this gem looks better in person in my mind.
