When it comes to clarity categories of gemstones, Emerald is classified as a type-3 gem. This means that inclusions in the stones are acceptable in the trade for collectors and dealers. With that said, it is very difficult to find a "clean" Emerald that is over a carat. This stone is from Bahia, Brazil, which is a refreshing change of pace from the Colombian material that dominates the market. The stone has some minor inclusions, and a brilliant glowing green color gem for the size. Keep in mind that Emeralds cannot be held to the same clarity standard that most stones are held to. It's a unique locality gem and the color is simply better than the photo indicates, as Emerald is one of the most difficult gems in the world to reproduce the color.
