Emerald (not from Colombia)

The most famous Emerald gems in the world are the superb examples from Colombia, but in the state of Bahia, Brazil there have been some limited discoveries of Emeralds. The best of the Brazilian stones nearly rival the Colombian gems in terms of quality and color, but they are obviously much less common on the market. Here we have a wonderful little "Square Emerald" cut stone with vivid color and some slight inclusions. Keep in mind that Emerald is classified as a type-3 gemstone which means that inclusions in the stones are acceptable in the trade for collectors and dealers. With that said, it is very difficult to find a "clean" Emerald that is over a carat. The color in this stone is not as good in the photo/video as it is in person, due to the fact that the color of Emerald is notoriously difficult to accurately reproduce in images. A very attractive example of these uncommon stones from Bahia.
