Emerald (not from Colombia)

Emerald are found in many world localities, but are best-known from Colombia. The superb quality gems that have come out of Colombia found far exceeds any other nation's output. This stone is from Bahia, Brazil, which actually produces more Emerald stones per year than Colombia, but not as high of quality typically. This gem has an "Oval Cabochon" cut with a notably medium green color and good translucency. It's a fairly unique locality gem, and if you have a crystal or specimen from Bahia in your collection, this stone would pair up nicely for a "rough and cut" set.
