Emerald in mica schist (old classic)

Item Description

An impressive, large, old-time, segmented emerald crystal from Malyshevo, Urals, Russia. This crystal has good translucency, color saturation and is strikingly set in the mica schist matrix. The smaller crystals are a super accent. The scattered bit of bruising has little impact to this very fine quality and aesthetics of this piece, that probably dates to the time of the Russian czars. The backlit photo highlights the rich blue-green color saturation. Rare in this size and color saturation, on the market today.
