Item Description

Colombia is obviously the king when it comes to specimens of Emerald, but there are some specimens from Bahia that rival them in color, quality and size. This piece is a soft bluish-green crystal group with amazingly SHARP and HIGHLY LUSTROUS prismatic faces, as good as any Emerald I've seen. Now, the piece is nearly opaque, but the surface of the crystals is SUPERB, and I honestly haven't seen anything from Colombia with this kind of sharpness and luster. A small "ridge" of gemmy colorless Quartz crystals can be found along the pinacoids of the crystals for a great touch. Valued at $1800 for the quality. Ex Paolo Matioli specimen.
