Item Description

Colombian Emerald crystal have set the standard around the world in terms of size, color and quality. Good crystals are difficult to obtain as the majority of them are often faceted into gemstones. With that said, it's notably difficult to get your hands on an un-repaired doubly-terminated crystal on matrix like this! This lovely cabinet display specimen hosts a sharp, lustrous, gemmy, beautiful blue-green color, doubly-terminated hexagonal prism of Emerald measuring 2.3 cm long sitting on a seam of grey-white Calcite crystals in black shale host rock matrix. There are a few spots on the front face of the Emerald crystal which are not damage, but areas of interrupted or incomplete growth, where is most likely grew against the other side of the pocket wall. Overall, the quality, color, size and gemminess of the crystal combined with the fact that it's sitting so beautifully on the matrix make this a desirable and eye-catching display specimen for any fan of gem crystals, Beryls or specifically Emeralds. From the collection of John Arnaud, and valued in our inventory at $4,000.
