Item Description
A classic old-time specimen of the rare Sandawanda Emeralds from Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia). This piece comes from an old East Coast collection that actually say Rhodesia on it, so it has to be at least 40 years old, because that's about the time when Rhodesia changed to Zimbabwe. Small, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, rich chrome green colored hexagonal crystals of Emerald in schist matrix measuring up to 1.1 cm can be seen on the display side of the specimen. These are nearly impossible to find on the market, and certainly worth picking up if you collect Emeralds, Beryls, gem crystals or minerals of Africa.
