Item Description

Classic European Emeralds from the centuries old mines in the Habach Valley of Austria - a fine display sized specimen. The oldest known reference to these historic mines are from the early 1700s and they have been collector classics ever since. Here are 8 sizable translucent to gemmy vibrant green Emeralds sitting on a intermixed serpentine-biotite schist. The larger Emerald down by the heel of the "boot" shaped piece measures 7.5 mm long and 4.1 mm thick. A few of the Emeralds are fully exposed with the remaining still partially embedded in the matrix. The piece is in excellent condition only lacking some crystal terminations which is an acceptable and very common trait to be missing from this locale. The Emeralds have a mesmerizing rich color saturation and are of a superb quality for the locale. Ex. Kurt Hefendehl.
