Item Description
Emerald is classified as a type-3 gemstone which means that inclusions in the stones are acceptable in the trade for collectors and dealers. With that said, it is very difficult to find a "clean" Emerald that is over a carat. This stone, despite having some very slight inclusions (keep in mind that Emeralds cannot be held to the same clarity standard that most stones are held to) has a vibrant color for a stone this size. The greatest aspect of this stone is the fact that it comes from the northern area of Brazil in Bahia, which is known for producing some great color Emeralds ,but not often gem quality Emeralds. This stone is a beautiful, bright bluish-green color, "Round Cabochon" cut gem from this lesser known locality for the material. It's a unique locality gem and the color not quite as intense as the first photo indicates, as Emerald is one of the most difficult gems in the world to reproduce the color.
