Good crystallized Emeralds are not common around the world, and even though Colombia has given collectors the finest example of this Beryl variety extant, pieces from the Panjsher Province of Afghanistan are among the better Emeralds around. This piece is a cute little thumbnail featuring a pair of sharp, RICH green color, sharp, well-formed, fairly lustrous hexagonal prisms of Emerald with good gemminess aesthetically sitting on matrix. The largest crystal measures 6 mm, and up close, is very attractive. Matrix Emeralds are not easy to find on matrix, especially from Afghanistan, so don't pass up on this little beauty.
