Emeralds have long been treasured for their beauty and rarity due to the fact that there truly are only a few places in the world that yield gem quality Emeralds. Here we have a fairly large "Oval Step" cut Emerald gem When backlit, the stone shows a beautiful internal chrome green color. Please note that this Emerald is not from the Colombia, which is the most well known locality for the material, but rather from Bahia, Brazil, which produces some excellent quality Emeralds, just not in the same quantity and Colombia.
