Item Description
Here we have a beautiful saturated Emerald gem from the northern area of Brazil in Bahia, which is known for producing some great color Emeralds, but not often gem quality Emeralds. Most people associate Emeralds with Colombia, but Brazil will produce good stones from time to time. Emerald is classified as a type-3 gemstone which means that inclusions in the stones are acceptable in the trade for collectors and dealers. With that said, it is very difficult to find a "clean" Emerald that is over a carat. This stone has some visible inclusions, with a glowing green color for the size. Keep in mind that Emeralds cannot be held to the same clarity standard to which most stones are held, so the inclusions are forgivable. It's a unique locality gem for any fan of Emeralds, and it would make a great gift for anybody with a May birthday. Note the unfortunate chip shown clearly on one edge
