Item Description

Bizarre, RARE, extremely elongated tetragonal cassiterite crystal with an uncommon pyramidal termination from an obscure, unknown locality in Hebei Province, China. The lustrous blackish-dark brown has embedded quartz on the prism faces. Complete all-around, the attachment is on the back. I bought this from a Chinese dealer during the early part of COVID years in 2020, for its highly unusual form. Rich and hefty tin ore at 138 grams mass, it is a miracle that a miner saved a few of these to get to the specimen markets.
