Item Description
An aesthetic and aesthetic matrix specimen of azurite on malachite from the now famous discovery of 2007 at Milpillas. Although there were many of these specimens available a few years ago, fine quality, display specimens are few and far between today. Two, large, fine quality, sharp, highly lustrous, somewhat gemmy (desirable electric-blue and gemmier than most), deep blue, bladed crystals of azurite up to 2.9 cm aesthetically rest on the velvety, green malachite crust. Miniscule edgewear is noted on the smaller azurite and a cleaved face on the larger azurite is out of sight. A very fine little display specimen from this well-known find, that looks good from either side. Valued at $400-500 and well worth it.
