Scintillating blades of highly desirable, gemmy "electric-blue" and midnight-blue azurite crystals form a gorgeous rosette on this outstanding old-time thumbnail from the famous mines at Zacatecas. These are the highest quality azurites that Mexico produced back in the day, and even though they are small, they are superb. These compare very favorably to the best from Bisbee, Chessy or China. This is definitely old material, certainly around 1960s vintage, from the Jaime Bird Collection. This is a striking, beautiful and important specimen.
