Scintillating blades of highly desirable, gemmy "electric-blue" and midnight-blue azurite crystals fill a continuous sculptural vug on two sides of the 3-dimensional gossan matrix on this outstanding old-timer from the famous mines at Zacatecas. These are the highest quality azurites that Mexico produced back in the day, and even though they are small, they are superb. This is definitely old material, certainly around 1960s vintage. This striking and important specimen is from the Robert Whitmore Collection and was a very early acquisition in 1967 with a specimen number of 45. Valued at $500
