Item Description

A pale pastel pink Elbaite crystal with a light pastel blue cap is graced at the base by patchy clusters of pale lavender Lepidolite and two small Microlite crystals. The Elbaite crystal itself is translucent to locally transparent and exhibits striations typical of Tourmaline. There are a few, small, side car Elbaite crystals in parallel growth emanating from the base and continuing partway up the crystal. The base of the crystal has discontinuous tracts of lavender Lepidolite composed of 2 mm crystals and there are two, equant, brown, very lustrous Microlite crystals that are embedded in the Elbaite crystal near the base that are triangular in shape. An unusual and attractive combination specimen from the pegmatites in Afghanistan.
