Elbaite var. Rubellite with Quartz inclusion

Item Description

This is a large single crystal from the rich gem pegmatites of Brazil and a classic old mine, of an unusual and dark style that despite its thickness, is fully transparent when backlit, revealing a stunning range of colors from rubellite to greenish-yellow within. A doubly terminated quartz crystal is embedded within the tourmaline, adding to its uniqueness. This exceptional specimen was sold to a California collector for $2,000 in the late 1990s and then disappeared from the market for nearly 30 years until it resurfaced in 2022 when the entire Mary Perry collection was acquired by Tom Zhang. This is truly a WONDERFUL large and robust tourmaline crystal from old finds in Brazil.
