Item Description

Elbaite - multicolored tourmaline NAMED FOR the finds on the Isle of Elba - is rarely seen for sale. Bi-colored elbaite tourmalines from this renowned locale are a European and worldwide classic and are higly desirable. A stout, 2.6 cm x 2.1 x 1.4 cm, highly lustrous, gemmy to translucent, rose-red and variable shades of olive-green, crystal is jauntily set on the edge of a plate of lustrous, translucent, frosted quartz crystals and feldspar. The quartz crystal plate is in super shape and the contacting on one side of the elbaite, has no damage, per se. Classic, excellent, old-time combination material from the Clarence Bement (late 1800s) and Herb Obodda Collections. Valued at $1500-2000. Our Old World Thanksgiving spiker.
