The lesser-known Fisher Quarry near Topsham, Maine might be best-known for producing some of the finest crystals of Hydroxycalciomicrolite, which are a VIVID green color, but it's also the source of some attractive Elbaite Tourmaline crystals, like most pegmatite quarries in Maine. This piece is a wonderful prismatic group of striated pastel greenish-blue colored Elbaites, free of matrix. The crystals are more of green hue at the terminations, and more blue lower down on the piece. You don't see many Fisher Tourmalines on the market, so if you're a fan of gem crystals, minerals of New England / Maine or thumbnail Tourmalines, don't miss out on this one.
