Item Description
Elbaite tourmaline crystals from the famous namesake Elba Island Type Locality are a desirable European and worldwide classic. A 1.5 cm, pretty gem, bi-colored, yellow-green to pink to light blue crystal is aesthetically set amongst blocky orthoclase crystals, smoky quartz and quartz points and sections of other tourmalines. The blocky granitic pegmatite matrix includes much microcrystalline schorl on one side. The elbaite has been repaired at the base (by us, after removing very old glue first), but this remains a very showy and highly representative combination example of the species and famed locale. Rarely on the market! Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and formerly in the Marion Godshaw Collection, according to Bob's label. valued $750-1000
