Elbaite Tourmaline

This 27-gram, color zoned elbaite crystal is the classic "watermelon" mix where the core of the crystal is pinkish-red and the edges are a pastel greenish-blue.In spite of internal crazing, the crystal is glassy and gemmy. Note there is edge damage, shallow but present, all around the muted termination. Hence this might have been worth $400-500 from the photos, but $100-200 is more realistic now.
