Item Description

Set of 5 Tourmaline crystals that represent the rare style of bi-colored Elbaite from the famed Virgem da Lapa locality. The GEMMY crystals have excellent luster and striations on the prism faces. The color transitions from a bottle-green to a vivid pink at the terminations. These terminations are either complete or partially etched, with both styles being typical for the locality. Rare, colorful, older material from 1960s or 1970s, the longest Elbaite is 6.7 cm and the thickest is 2.6 cm. Together, 143 grams.
