Elbaite on Quartz

Item Description

An attrative thumbnail from Molo featuring a pair of trigonal prismatic crystals of Elbaite Tourmaline measuring up to 1.6 cm, which are largely black in color, but the triangular terminations have a rich pink hue, which is best seen with backlighting. There is an almost "etched" quality to the terminations, giving them an interesting appearance. The Tourmalines are sitting on a bit of translucent pale smoky colored Quartz. No major damage, save the base of the piece where it detached from the pocket wall.
