Elbaite (Gemmy)

Item Description

This isolated Elbaite crystal features exceptionally sharp crystal forms and excellent terminations. It is transparent, with a very bright luster and gemmy quality. This specimen is from the famous find in Rubaya during the COVID period, known for producing tourmalines of superb quality and multi-colored hues. Commonly referred to as "watermelon" tourmaline in the gemstone market, this crystal exhibits the characteristic coloration from green to pink, with a pale yellow hue in between—enhancing its resemblance to a real watermelon. This fine gem thumbnail crystal is especially rare and valuable because so many of these specimens have been cut, and would continue to be cut if they fell into the wrong hands.
