Item Description

A surreal looking, superb and possibly unique combination specimen from Pech with a major surprise! The large striated beryllonite crystal is doubly terminated and looks like an ice castle. Two strikingly different elbaite crystals are dramatically attached to the front. The larger, 3.7 cm crystal is a beautiful glass-green gem and is doubly terminated. A 2.7 cm translucent to opaque, elbaite, with highly unusual tabular habit is a striking contrast. Both crystals are highly lustrous. The large elbaite is essentially pristine, with only the most trivial of edge wear and the tabular crystal has one lightly bruised end. The surprise is hidden behind the highest "tower" of the "castle" in the form of a flat-lying, 1.6 x 1.6 x 0.5 cm, tabular, gem, achroite (colorless) beryl crystal. One side of the beryllonite and beryl are contacted, but have virtually no impact on the overall outstanding quality of this very rare combination. The beryllonite in this size and quality is alone worth $2000. Valued at $3000 for this outstanding, incredibly sculptural combination.
