Elbaite and gem Spodumene

A striking, large thumbnail or small miniature, spray of lustrous, pastel-green Elbaites comprise this gorgeous, near-perfect fan, from the famous pegmatite district at Pech. Spanning the face of the fan, like a vampy lounge singer laying across a piano, is a gemmy and lustrous, 2.8 cm Spodumene crystal. The composition and balance on this small miniature are stellar, with the colorless and gemmy Spodumenes displaying beautifully. The Spodumene is doubly-terminated, as are some of the Elbaites. With exquisite aesthetics, this notable Afghani combination piece features two notable gem species: Elbaite and Spodumene. Recently deaccessed from the Tim Sherburn collection, ex Cal Graeber from the Stan Korfmacher collection (which probably dates it to the 1990s or early 2000s when Stan was buying)
