Item Description
Edingtonite is a very rare member of the zeolite group and is only found in about two dozens localities around the world. There is only one reported locality for the species in Brazil; the Jacupiranga Mine. This piece features classic, razor-sharp, GEM quality, pseudo-cubic (orthorhombic) crystals of colorless Edingtonite perched atop chalky white Natrolite on matrix. A perfect representation of the material, which is seldom seen on the market today. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9892). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
