This is a unique variety of Quartz from the finest occurrence in the world. Ametrine is a naturally occurring purple and yellow bi-color variety that is formed by a unique twin law ("Brazil Law Twinning") where two separate individually colored crystals are intergrown to form an alternating "radiation" pattern of purple and yellow triangles when viewed down the c axis. The two colors are oriented to cut the bicolor gemstones, These particular gems are a unique, one-of-a-kind, attractive, well cut, nearly 50/50 purple/yellow bicolor, virtually eye clean, "Radiant Cut Corner Rectangle" cut gemstones set into custom Sterling Silver earrings. A unique design featuring beautiful "snowflake"-like star designs that are hand carved into the front hoop of the earrings. These beautiful pieces will certainly draw some attention to the person wearing them. These earrings were custom designed and built by Brett Kosnar of Kosnar Gem Co. in the Fall of 2012. These gems are truly beautiful and when Ametrine is well cut, it looks amazing.
