Dumortierite included in Quartz (rare matrix specimen)

Here we have a rarely matrix specimen of these elusive, rare and colorful Quartz crystals with Dumortierite inclusions. I'm sure that some of you might have seen these pieces in the gem / lapidary trade, but to find a piece of actual CRYSTALLIZED Quartz with these Dumortierite inclusions is rare in my experience. This toenail specimen features a predominant, 1.7 cm, sharp, well-formed, euhedral, white / colorless translucent prismatic Quartz crystal with notably strong indigo colored inclusions of Dumortierite sitting on Quartz crystal matrix. There are additional Dumortierite inclusions underneath, creating a very attractive effect. Excellent condition, no major damage to the main Quartz crystal and it displays beautifully. If you collect Quartz or inclusion specimens, this is a great opportunity to pick up a piece of this rarely seen material from the Vaca Morta Quarry in Bahia. From the collection of Brian Kosnar.
